The class project is due June 15 at 11:59pm HOL time. Please send your project to the class email, [email protected], and include your HOL id in the subject, for example "Class Project - ar949".
For the class project, you have several options! You can earn up to 60 points from the project. There are three main projects you can pick from, and then there are also several options within each project. I hope I've made it clear, but if you have any questions about how many points you can earn from what you're planning to submit, just send me a message!
1. Prepare a meal! Choose three dishes, from either the lesson or your own research, and prepare a breakfast, lunch, or dinner, for yourself or a friend. Take at least two pictures of each dish - one while you're in the process of preparing it, and one of the finished product! Upload your photos to an image-hosting site and send me the link!
2. Kennilworthy Whisp is coming to town, and he's staying at your house for the day! You can use any combination of art and writing to demonstrate what you would serve him for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
3. Kennilworthy has decided to open up a restaurant! He needs your help getting started!

- Each of the three dishes is worth 15 points, and you can earn an additional 15 points from writing a 100-200 word explanation of the dishes you chose and how the cooking experience went.
2. Kennilworthy Whisp is coming to town, and he's staying at your house for the day! You can use any combination of art and writing to demonstrate what you would serve him for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- One option is to draw each of the three meals and write a short explanation of what each one contains and why you chose it. You are more than welcome to present it in a different way, if you'd prefer to focus on writing, or make a creative brochure, or anything else you can think of. If you're not sure what you're planning on doing is going to be worth the full amount of points, just send me a message.
3. Kennilworthy has decided to open up a restaurant! He needs your help getting started!
- Create a menu using the dishes found in the lesson and/or other dishes you can find! (30 points)
- Design an advertisement to drum up business for the restaurant's opening day! (30 points)
- Write a newspaper article announcing the restaurant's opening. This could include an interview with Kennilworthy Whisp, a critical review of menu options, or anything else you can think of. Minimum 300 words. (30 points)
