Glazed carrots
Ingredients: One 16 oz bag of baby carrots 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon sweet paprika 1/2 teaspoon salt 2-3 tbsp water 1/4 cup maple syrup 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and prepare a sheet pan by lining it with parchment paper. You can also use a brownie pan or casserole dish! 1. Combine all of the ingredients - other than the carrots - in a large bowl. 2. Add the carrots to the bowl and coat them with the sauce mixture. 3. Spread the carrots on the pan, and pour all of the sauce mixture over them. 4. Bake 20-25 minutes or until tender |
Green bean casserole
1-2 containers (6-12 oz) french fried onions 2 tbsp olive oil 1 medium onion, diced 2 garlic cloves, minced 2 cups white button mushrooms, stemmed and sliced 1/2 cup dry white wine 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 1 3/4 cup milk 1 tbsp soy sauce 1/4 tsp ground black pepper 5 cups fresh green beans, cut into 3 inch pieces 1. Add the olive oil to a medium skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. 2. Add the garlic and the mushrooms and sauté for about 5 more minutes, until the mushrooms are tender. 3. Pour in the white wine and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the liquid is reduced by 1/2, about 2 minutes. 4. Add the flour and stir to form a paste with the remaining liquid. 5. Pour in the milk, stirring constantly. 6. Stir in the soy sauce, pepper, and green beans. 7. Bring to a simmer and reduce heat to medium-low. 8. Simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. 9. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. 10. Once the sauce is thick and the green beans are bright-green and tender crisp, transfer the bean mixture to a 9 inch baking dish and place it in the oven. 11. Bake for 20 minutes. 12. After you take it out of the oven, pour the french fried onions on top! |
