Please send your homework and extra credit separately to the class email, [email protected], and include your HOL id and the lesson number in the subject, for example "Homework 2 - ar949".
Suggested deadline: March 31
Final Deadline: May 31 @ 11:59pm HOL time

Fill in the blanks (10 points)

4. You can just as easily make a ______ pizza if you buy a ______.
True or False (10 points)
Determine whether each statement is true or false. If false, correct it to make it true.
1. When cooking, you should always stick to the exact instructions in the recipe. Any changes are too risky!
2. It is important to stir pasta while it cooks to make sure it doesn't stick to the bottom of the pot.
3. The best way to cut a vegetable is to hold it in the palm of your left hand and cut downwards with your right.
4. After you bake a pizza dough, you should immediately add the toppings, while it's still warm.
5. You'll need a pizza pan if you want to make a pizza; there are no other options.
Short Answer (10 points)
1. Tell me one way you might vary each of the three recipes in this lesson - is there another ingredient you might add? An ingredient you might swap out for another?
2. We see several examples of magic helping with cooking in the Harry Potter books - the food refilling itself at the Great Hall, Mrs. Weasley using magic to facilitate the process, the existence of many foods with magical properties. If you could choose one of those things (or any other example!), which would it be and why?
Extra Credit
You have two extra credit options this month - each is worth the full 30 points, so you only need to choose one.
Option 1 - Cooking
Your task is to select one of the recipes from the lesson and make it yourself! In about 50-100 words, tell me a little about how it went - did you change anything from the recipe? Did anything go wrong? Include at least one picture of the work in progress and one picture of the final product!
Option 2 - Writing
If you're lacking a kitchen or cooking materials, or otherwise would prefer an alternate option, you may choose a writing prompt! I have two ideas you can write about - if you come up with something else, just ask :) Whichever you choose, please write at least 300 words!
