Homework
Short answer (10 points)
Based on your experiences with the first three lessons, explain how baking is different from cooking. Which do you think is easier? Which do you like better? Write at least 100 words for full points!
Fill-in-the blanks (10 points)
1. You can use an ________ _______ for this part, but if you don't have one, don't worry, you can still do it with a regular _______!
2. For both of this lesson's recipes, you should preheat your oven to ________ degrees.
3. The cookies have two chocolatey ingredients: _____ _______ and _______ ________.
4. Sprinkle some _______ ________ on top of the cupcakes for decoration!
True/false (10 points)
Determine whether each statement is true or false. If false, correct it to make it true.
1. It is important to let it cool before you add the frosting so that the frosting doesn't peel the batter off.
2. You'll need 3 mixing bowls to make the cinnamon bun cupcakes.
3. Place as many brownie cookies on the sheet as possible - it doesn't matter how close together they are.
4. When making the cupcakes, dump the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients.
5. If the cookies feel soft and gooey, you should bake them for at least 10 more minutes.
Extra Credit
You have two extra credit options this month - each is worth the full 30 points, so you only need to choose one.
Option 1 - Cooking
Your task is to select one of the recipes from the lesson and make it yourself! In about 50-100 words, tell me a little about how it went - did you change anything from the recipe? Did anything go wrong? Include at least one picture of the work in progress and one picture of the final product!
Option 2 - Writing
If you're lacking a kitchen or cooking materials, or otherwise would prefer an alternate option, you may choose a writing prompt! I have two ideas you can write about - if you come up with something else, just ask :) Whichever you choose, please write at least 300 words!

- Baking is not easy. I've had my fair share of baking tragedies, from entire batches of burnt cookies, to forgetting to grease the pan and not being able to get the brownies out, to accidentally pressing the wrong button on the oven and burning everything. Tell me a story about your worst baking disaster! Feel free to elaborate, exaggerate, or completely make something up!
- Share your favorite baking recipe, in the form of a script for a cooking show!
